On October 19, 2010, Sneade's Ace Home Center was presented with the Sustainable Business of the Year by the Calvert County Commissioners and Green Team. We are very honored. We continue to find products that will meet or exceed "green" inititives so we may leave our county in a healthier environment.

2010 Green Team Awards - -

The award, the first of an annual recognition program, highlights local businesses that have installed a significant energy-saving project within the last two years and/or is selling or providing a certified green product.

The sponsor of the award, the Calvert County Citizens Green Team, is a group of county residents and business owners working to promote sustainable practices in the community. The team also coordinates the annual Calvert County Green Expo.

Sneade’s Ace Home Center with locations in Owings and Lusby promotes the use of energy saving compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs and leads by example by using only CFL bulbs in its indoor lighting displays. Sneade’s has also recently undergone exterior renovations – putting a new face on the building that is energy efficient. Additionally, Sneade’s sells and prominently displays green household products including green cleaning supplies. The store also promotes and sells low odor/water based paints while promoting environmentally safe paint disposal. Employees are well versed in green products and in promoting their economic and environmental value.

Protecting the Environment Through Rechargeable Battery & Cell Phone Recycling. Each store has a Call2Recycle box so you can place your rechargeable batteries and cell phones.
