About Sneade's Ace

Sneade's Ace Home Center, Inc. was awarded Calvert County's Business of the Year for the 2011 Leading Edge Awards hosted by the College of Southern Maryland and is a business in good standing. In keeping with the tradition and the quality of previous Calvert County Leading Edge Award winners, Sneade's Ace Home Center Inc. was selected for this award based upon its performance and support of Calvert County's economic development initiatives and contributions to the local economy, its internal and employee culture, and the company's involvement in community affairs and volunteer activities.

Company Overview

Sneade's Ace Home Center, Inc. is an independently owned retail-lumber business. Sneade's has two locations, Owings and Lusby, servicing Calvert County. Our company was founded in 1975 in North Beach, Maryland and has been growing ever since. In September 29, 1989 we purchased the former Owings Lumber and expanded the building to a 14,000 square foot hardware/lumber supply store. Our refurbishments included a unique, covered drive-thru lumber facility, which offers a great convenience for our customers.

In October of 1996 we purchased Solomons Home Center located in the southern part of Calvert County and converted it to Sneade's Ace Home Center. With the continued growth of our business, we outgrew our 8,000 square foot facility in Solomons, Maryland. We were very excited to design and open a new 14,000 square foot facility in Lusby, Maryland in July of 2002. In October 2003, we began constructing our completely covered drive-thru lumberyard, which makes our lumber service unique. We are able to house and serve our valued customer with dry, non-weathered material.

Sneade's Ace Home Center, Inc. operates in both our Owings and Lusby locations. We are proud to serve our retail and contractor business with a broad diversity of core products including hardware, paint, plumbing, electrical, seasonal, lawn and garden and building materials. Our uniqueness comes from not only providing high quality products, but also the best customer service to our valued customers and local businesses.
