*Don't over water; over watering:

   -  Adds to runoff

   -  Pollutes and depletes the water supply

   -  Requires more frequent mowing

*Don't water a lot after fertilization - you can water lightly to help the fertilizer dissolve, but you do not want to cause any runoff because the fertilizer will was away

*Do remove thatch so water can easily reach the soil

*Do aerate your lawn annually, allowing water to go deeper and develop stronger roots

*Do use sprinklers that apply water slowly enough for the lawn to soak up the water, avoid runoff, and apply water evenly, such as the Ace oscillator sprinkler

*Do use a sprinkler timer, e.g., Ace aquatimer water timer, to avoid over watering

*Do repair leaky faucets and hoses
