Prep time
- Start planning as early in the season as you'd like. It can be especially fun on a cold, rainy day. Involve the kids and decide what plants to grow.
- Make a list and visit Sneade's Ace Home Cneter for the items you'll need.
- Allow a couple of hours to prepare the soil and do the planting.
- Plan to spend a few minutes a day weeding and harvesting.
- Water the garden as needed, depending on the weather.
Ingredients
- A patch of soil about eight feet by eight fee, in an area that gets sunlight all day. your garden can be any shape, and you can even get creative by making it round and dividing it into sections like pizza slices.

Seedings, seeds or bulbs for pizza-related plants, such as tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, garlic, basil, oregano and spinach.
- Rake or hoe
- Trowel
- Mulch
- Garden soil with slow-release fertilizer
- Hose/sprinkler/nozzle and a water source
Recipe
- Remove any stones or debris from your garden plot. Add Ace garden soil, which comes complete with slow-release fertilizer, and work it into the ground with a rake orhoe until all of the large clumps are gone. If you'd like, this can be done several days before you plant.
- Planting time! Follow the directions on the seed packets or plant containers, such as how deep to plant and how much room to leave between plants.
- Immediately after planting, give your garden plenty of water. Be sure to water deeply to the root level.
- Put a 2-inch layer of mulch between rows and around seedlings. It will keep weeds from cropping up and will help your garden retain moisture.
- Remember to water your garden when necessary, always watering deeply to the root level.
