Hardwood

Vacuum, dry mop or sweep on a regular basis to remove any loose dirt or grit.  The best metod of removing dirt and grit is vacuuming with a soft brush attachment on your vacuum.  For a sparkling hardwood floor, we recommend using a premium spray mop, which is quick, easy to use and leaves no dulling residue.  Bona (Ace No. 1337088). www.bona.com

Tile

Tile should be swept or vacuumed on a regular basis.  If you vacuumed, make sure the brush roll is turned off to prevent scratching.  Damp mop using a tile and grout cleaner.  Textured tiles may require scrubbing with a soft brush and mild detergent.  They can then be rinsed with warm water and cried with a clean towel.(Ace no. 1235290).

Once the floor is thoroughly cleaned, it's a good idea to seal it with a ceramic tile sealer which is designed to repel dirt.  Tile should be re-sealed every two years.

Carpet

Investing in a good vacuum and using it often is the foundation to having a beautiful, long-lasting carpet.  Vacuuming removes the loose dirt that breaks down your carpet fibers and causes its appearance to dull.

If you have a spill on your carpet, treat it righ away.  First blot up as much of the liquid as you can with a clean, dry cloth or paper towel.  Do not rub or scrub the area as this can damage the fibers and may leave a permanent stain.  Use warm, not hot, water to rinse the stained area effectively.  Use more clean towels to blot up the water until the stain starts to fade.  If the stain is still there after going through these steps, then try a stain remover.

Laminate

Nothing is maintenance free, not even laminate flooring.  To keep it looking its best, sweep or vacuum it regularly (roll brush turned off to prevent scratching) and damp mop occasionally.   Try Bona for Laminate, ceramic or tile flooring (Ace no. 1366541)  www.bona.com.
