Dozens of attachments and tips interchange like drill bits to handle almost any job a hobbyist, artist, mechanic or do-it-yourselfer can think of.  This tool is as fun and easy-to-use as it is practical, so every member of your household will find reasons to use it on craft projects and home, car, boat or even toy repair.

In fact, you may want to have more than one rotary tool to equip the garage, workshop and hobby bench.  Here are five common functions a rotary tool can perform:

  • SANDING   -  A drum sander tip can help smooth out odd shapes like groovers, or detailed areas like moldings and carvings that can be difficult to reach with any other sanding tool.

  •  CUTTING  -  Affixed with a drywall cutter, a rotary tool gives you great control when cutting electrical box and outlet openings in newly hung drywall.

Cut ceramic wall tile with a tile cutter tip or use specialty cutting wheels to slice through metal conduit, plastic pipe, cables, chains, ceramic and porcelain.

Remove burrs from metal pipe with grinding stone and steel brush attachments.

Use specialty drill bit tips to drive pilot holes into masonry, wood and metal.

  • CARVING  -  Engraving cutters and grinding stones help you carve detailed designs into wood.

Specialized grinding tips let you etch designs into glass or even terra cotta pots.   You can also etch your name into tools and other valuables.

Router bits and drum sander tips come in handy for wood craft projects like cutting out seasonal shapes or even souping up a pinewood derby car with your favorite Boy Scout.
